This came across my IndieGoGo newsie recently. It’s a redesign of the humble tape measure, a tool we all know & love in the trade. I’d love to test one of these out in the wild.
My only concern is how to find a specific project stored on it if you don’t have access to the mobile app. You’d have to remember what day you took the measurement. And if you’re like me, there’s no way I can remember my calendar in my head.
But that’s a small hiccup in a largely useful & intuitive gadget. Much improved!
Overall it’s extremely well thought out, with 3 measuring input choices. It’s durable, has a built in battery – and you can even add a level to it. And the Bluetooth ability is just genius. I’m going to carry a tape measure anyway. And probably a notepad, because I’m Old Skool , and I talk with drawings.
I could see this becoming a go-to just like a phone is for taking field pics & shooting over to the engineer, for example. I’d add it to my toolbox!
