Newsflash: NO IKEA Projects after May 30, 2014

Mark your calendars

Due to the impending rollout of IKEA’s new kitchen cabinet system in 2015, we will NOT take any new IKEA kitchen project requests after May 30, 2014. There will be NO¬†exceptions to this cutoff date.

After May 30 all Ecomod projects will be done using Besh Cabinets exclusively.

Update: To read about why we are discontinuing our use of IKEA in our projects, this post explains more.

  1. Is there something bad about the new IKEA cabinets vs the old ones? I’m looking to do a full kitchen renovation and was strongly considering IKEA, which is how I found your name on Angie’s List.

  2. How doe Besh Cabinets compare to IKEA in terms of price?

  3. Hi Matt – we could probably write a book on all the reasons we created Besh & are switching over from IKEA to it!

Suffice it to say that for some projects, IKEA will always be the best choice. I’d confidently wager that those projects are less concerned about quality and longevity than they are about up front cost.

That being said, we felt it was time to create a truly modular, US made cabinet line with more box construction material choices and a better way to maximize storage. All while finishing with a modern look and Blum hardware that so many IKEA fans dearly love.

It’s early on in our field data gathering, but at this writing it looks like on average Besh is roughly a 67% increase in cost over IKEA. Which is still lower than many of the cabinet lines carried at big box stores.

We’d be happy to talk with you further to explore if Besh is a good fit for your project. No harm in checking out the options. Just pop over to our contact page & fire it off to us. We’ll be in touch shortly.

    cheers -
    Becky
