Guest Post from Arcadian Lighting!

Hi everyone! I’m Jessica from Arcadian Lighting, a blog and website where I get to write about the latest interior design trends and all the beautiful home and kitchen lighting fixtures that go with them. I’m delighted to be guest posting today on Eco Modernism because I’d like to share a few key ways to keep your kitchen well lit and stylish. If you want your kitchen to be particularly chic, why not try a brilliant shade of blue? From robin’s egg blue to dusty gray-blue, there’s something classically cool about blue kitchens. I hope you enjoy!

Kitchen Light Fixtures

This modern kitchen features two sleek pendant lights and recessed lighting selectively placed throughout the room. The pale blue cupboards give the kitchen a cheerful atmosphere

Pendant lights

Rows of recessed lights ensure that the matte royal blue cupboards do not overwhelm this kitchen. The steel gray pendant light shades add a rustic twist.

Kitchen Island Lighting

A subtle hint of blue provides a beautiful accent color in this chic white and gray kitchen.  The blue refrigerator is a cool, unexpected touch.

Kitchen Track Lights

Pastel green and blue make such a lovely color combination in this Spring-inspired kitchen. Track lighting offers direct lighting to kitchen task areas.

Blue Kitchen Lighting

The cool pale blue color of this cozy kitchen really helps make the room feel more spacious. A clever bar at the window makes use of every area of the room.

Kitchen Island Chandelier

A chandelier may not be the first choice for kitchen lighting, but when paired with recessed lights, this room is positively sparkling. The deep blue counter tops are sophisticated against the all-white room.

Blue Kitchen

Simple, open shelving with a charming shade of turquoise has such a beautiful effect on this kitchen. Plenty of natural light streams in through the window and keeps the room bright and sunny.

Under Cabinet Lighting

Under-cabinet-lighting is the perfect solution to small kitchens with small windows. The soft blue colors is lovely against the cream colored walls. Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

  1. Thanks for a great post, Jessica! All of them are bright & airy, even the darker blue ones.

It’s not often we see traditional kitchen design at EcoMod; we’re modern specialists. Doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate the craftsmanship, though!

  2. Hi Becky! Thank you so much for having me as your guest on EcoMod! It was a pleasure sharing these inspiring pictures with you and your readers.

  3. The chandelier in the one post really makes that kitchen charming. Since I just had central air installed in my house, I am considering changing the lighting fixtures in my home since a ceiling fan ins’t necessary for every room now. What is the model of that particular one? I was just browsing your website and I also like the capital lighting transitional chandelier. It also is ironic that my counters are blue as well!
