Lolly, get your ideas here!
The source? Everywhere.
Literally. My brain is a connection machine. It doesn’t matter how remote the connection points might be, it somehow finds a way. Sometimes it happens in my sleep, & others it happens when I’m driving, or in the shower.
The Fringe
Almost every time, though, it happens when I’m focused on something else. It comes from what I call the Fringe. That peripheral scattering of stuff that hangs around on the edges, that you think is irrelevant. It’s not.
It’s like walking a really strong dog sometimes – & it’s fun to see where it takes me. Want to find ideas? Embrace your inner dog.

Oh, now c’mon.. how’s a dog supposed to read this and NOT stop by and comment? I used to do a lot of programming when I was young and stupid and thought that if we are able to map everything to everything, we would then be able to produce a computer that could outsmart a human brain. But the older I get, the more I think that is just a futile exercise as each combination of two experiences produces three new ones that were not predictable…. like an endless iteration of that shampoo commercial..
My point to all this is the dog walk is not in any danger of extinction anytime soon as long as human beings need ideas.
Fringe is what makes the boring stuff fun!
The Fringe. That’s where ideas tease us, prompting us to run off a cliff with the big dog. :)
Rufus, I need to get a dog to walk.
In this house we have 2 guinea pigs, a cat and a hamster. No doggies! That’s why I get writer’s block a lot, isn’t it?
