At long last: Hello again, WordPress
We made the site switch last night. Still a few tweaks but like a favorite pair of jeans we’re back at it with WordPress.
Looking for something?
If you’ve bookmarked a topic of interest on our site during the past year & need the info again, just let us know. We blew the archives away & started with a clean slate. Sometimes it’s the best thing to do.
Post backlog!
And boy do we have a backlog of posts to catch up on! Not the least of which is Earth Hour…
At the top of our blog page is an info bar about Earth Hour, which includes a countdown (2 days!). Shut it all off for 1 hour (minimum!) to save energy, rediscover community & enjoy the unpluggitude.

Your post is perfectly timed for me today as I have decided to “migrate” my blog from Windows Live to WordPress. Easy to say –way difficult to do ‘cuz I don’t know how! I’ve suffered the last complaint about how difficult it is to leave comments on Windows Live. The last thing I want to do is piss off my precious readers –too hard to come by.
My blog is much younger than yours and I’m not quite willing to ditch my archived blog posts. I might be able to just import them. Was thinking about continuing to use Live Writer and just publish with WP, but am having second thoughts after reading WP’s blogs on the subject. Should I just “cut and past” my old blog posts to a new WP blog page? Your advice would be very appreciated.
-Pam (the not teck savvy one)
Hi Pam – I feel your pain!
Depending on how many posts there are, cutting & pasting into new posts in WP might be the best solution.
A compromise might be to create a new WP blog without unplugging the WindowsLive one. You could post new articles to the WP blog & if people want to reference the old blog you can link to it.
Is there a way to export posts from WindowsLive? I’m not familiar with it, but if there is a way to bulk export your posts you can bring them into WP.
But sometimes trying to make databases work together is more trouble than it’s worth.
Good luck!
